Roger East had a nightmare at Old Trafford today.
Sunderland’s Wes Brown was sent off against Manchester United today for a foul on Radamel Falcao when it was clearly his team-mate John O’Shea who had conceded a penalty against his – and Brown’s – old team.
Referee Roger East refused to accept that it was O’Shea who was guilty, sending Soccer Saturday pundit Paul Merson into one of his better verbal flights of fancy.
Oh Merse. Never change.
