Sunderland's Wes Brown was sent off against Manchester United today for a foul on Radamel Falcao when it was clearly his team-mate John O'Shea who had conceded a penalty against his - and Brown's - old team.
Referee Roger East refused to accept that it was O'Shea who was guilty, sending Soccer Saturday pundit Paul Merson into one of his better verbal flights of fancy.
