Jon Jones appeared on Jimmy Kimmel last night in the wake of his onstage brawl with fellow UFC fighter Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier and it must be said, he wasn’t exactly kind to his opponent.
If you are new to this rivalry, it is probably best to inform you that Jones and Cormier have a love/hate relationship, but without the love. In simpler terms, they get on about as well with each other, as you get on with the neighbour who ran over your dog.
Jones, the seven-time defending UFC light-heavyweight champion, made some underhand comments about DC’s past wrestling career that are sure to cause some offence to the former Strikeforce Grand Prix champion.
Jones belittled Cormier’s fourth place finish at the Olympics by sneakily asking; “What do you get for fourth place, I don’t even know?” Kimmel was quick to inform him that all you get is a “ribbon” which caused Jones to laugh.
This interview is sure to add to the bad blood between the pair who face off at UFC 178 on September 27 in what is sure to be an amazing night of UFC action with Tim Kennedy and Conor McGregor also on the card.
