The Manchester United man lost the head and saw red this evening, kicking out in bizarre fashion at an Azerbaijani player.
Another game, another bad night for Michael O’Neill’s Northern Ireland. With their hopes of qualifying long gone, a trip to Baku could have been ideal to nab a morale boosting win before the end of the World Cup campaign. Instead, Northern Ireland lost 2-0 and the match ended with Jonny Evans getting sent off when he completely lost his cool in injury time at the end of the game. Rauf Aliyev tangled with the defender and in a bizarre moment of frustration, Evans kicked him in full view of the referee.
