Video: Just look at the display these Polish football fans put on for a pre-season friendly

Pre-season friendlies are often tedious, passionless affairs which barely raise a round of applause, but not if you’re supporting Lechia Gdansk.

Lechia Gdansk played Greek side Panathinaiokos in a pre-season friendly the other day and you’d be forgiven for thinking it was the Champions League Final such was the level of noise and colour from the Gdansk fans.

At one point the ref had to bring both teams off the pitch as the smoke bombs and flares cause a blanket of smoke to envelop the pitch. The match finished 0-0 and probably safe to assume that most of the action took place in the stands.

Barcelona played Lechia last year in another pre-season game which happened to be the debut of a lad called Neymar. The game finished 2-2.
