Video: Just the biggest mountain bike backflip of all time, no big deal

We nearly sh*t ourselves watching this so we can only imagine what it was like for Cam Zink to perform it, but he made it look like the easiest thing in the world.

Red Bull events rarely tend to disappoint in terms of the adrenaline-pumping action they provide and the Red Bull Rampage on the Oakley Icon Sender in Utah recently was no different.

The highlight of the event was a breath-taking stunt by Cam Zink, who made history when completing the biggest freeride mountain bike step-down backflip (quite a mouthful isn’t it?) in history, a stunt that was good enough for… a THIRD placed finish in the competition. What the hell did the guys in first and second place do for God’s sake?

Zink’s 78-foot, yes, 78-foot, jump did earn him the Best Trick award and plenty of acclaim from the watching audience and those who have seen it on YouTube since and besides, he should be happy that he emerged in one piece this time, particularly after a similar stunt didn’t end so well this time last year.
