Katie Taylor is out of the 2016 Rio Olympics after she lost out via split decision to Finland’s Mira Potkonen in their last 8 bout.
Taylor started well and won the first round on two of the judges scorecards but she looked sluggish, not like the Katie Taylor of recent years and she eventually succumbed to a split decision loss to the very tough Finnish fighter.
The result leaves Michael Conlan as Ireland’s only hope for a boxing medal at this Olympics.
She spoke with RTÉ after and she was understandably distraught following the fight…
