That had to hurt.

That had to hurt.

Spectators going to a golf event go there knowing that as well as having to put up with some dodgy style choices and eejit-y fans shouting stuff like ‘Get in the Hole’ and ‘Mashed Potatoes’, there is a very slight risk of getting hit by a wayward shot by one of the pros.

Normally, the spectators can see it coming or a shout of ‘fore’ is enough to send them running for cover but occasionally there can be some pretty painful accidents and one such accident occurred at the Presidents Cup in Ohio yesterday.

At the 14th tee, Keegan Bradley sent his tee shot way off to the left toward a crowd of spectators, one of whom was unfortunate enough to be hit smack on the head with Bradley’s ball, which was travelling at some pace.

Such was the force of the impact that the spectator was knocked straight to the floor and you can hear the sound of the ball colliding with his forehead and while we’re pretty sure the spectator will recover eventually, he might have to put up with a golf-ball sized lump on his noggin for the foreseeable future.
