If we were Brendan Rodgers right now, we’d be very scared.

Practically everybody in the world – not just the world of football – has given their verdict on Steven Gerrard’s impending departure from Liverpool, but we think we speak for everyone when we say that we couldn’t wait to hear Liam Neeson’s thoughts on the matter.

The Taken star is a Liverpool fan himself and is, of course, from the same neck of the woods as Reds boss Brendan Rodgers in County Antrim.

Judging by the response he gave to talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil on the Sports Breakfast show this morning, however, they might be having words if they ever meet for a pint in Ballymena anytime soon.
