Video: Madison Bumgarner’s World Series MVP presentation was one of the most hilariously awkward things you’ll ever see

Poor Chevy Guy is getting a lot of attention on the Internet today and for all the wrong reasons.

The San Francisco Giants claimed the World Series last night with a 3-2 victory over Kansas City Royals in Game 7 to secure a 4-3 victory overall and bring the MLB season to a close.

Central to the Giants’ success over the series was pitcher Madison Bumgarner, who was deservedly named as MVP and was presented with a brand new Chevrolet Colorado as a reward.

The presentation ceremony wasn’t exactly seamless, however, as a very nervous Rikk Wilde from Chevrolet sales and marketing struggled through some corporate jargon before eventually handing over the keys to Bumgarner.

The Colorado does look like quite the machine but you wouldn’t have known it from Wilde’s speech as he hailed its “class winning, you know, technology and stuff” and regularly referred to a piece of paper with notes on it, while 80-year old Baseball commissioner Bud Selig stood awkwardly by a few yards away.

You can’t help but feel sympathy for Wilde as he was quite obviously overawed by the occasion but had no real choice but to plough on through to the finish in what was one of the most cringe-inducing pieces of television you’ll see this year.

Poor Rikk.
