There was no controversy this time around as the judges ruled unanimously in favour of the Pac-Man, who gained a measure of revenge for defeat to Timothy Bradley two years ago.
That time around, Bradley emerged as the victor on a split decision despite the feeling amongst most neutral observers that Pacquiao had done more than enough to win, but there was no repeat in Las Vegas last night as the Filipino Congressman emerged victorious with the judges scoring the fight 116-112, 118-110 and 116-112 in his favour.
The victory will no doubt prompt discussion amongst fight fans about a potential and long-awaited bout between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather in the future, but considering that it has been talked about for years and years and hasn’t happened so far, we won’t be holding our breath just yet.
