Video: Mark McHugh was on the end of a fairly hefty hit against Laois on Sunday

It wasn’t quite on the same level as his collision with Monaghan’s Stephen Gollogly last year but this still must have hurt.

McHugh was part of a Donegal outfit that enjoyed a comprehensive 13-point victory over Laois in O’Moore Park on Sunday and he’s lucky he wasn’t more seriously hurt after being caught high by Denis Booth in the second half, a challenge that resulted in a red card for the Laois corner back.

We doubt Booth meant to catch him as high as he did but it still looked like a pretty nasty collision. McHugh, though, is made of tough stuff, as we well know after seeing this during the Ulster Final last year…
