The first ever GAA World Games took place in Abu Dhabi last weekend and by all accounts, it was a massive success.
To show how much of a big deal it was to the GAA, a handful of high-profile ambassadors made the trip over to the Middle East, including Pat Spillane, Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh and the big dawg himself, Marty Morrissey.
As you would expect, Marty proved quite the hit with the crowds and he gave them just what they were looking for when pucking a screamer of a goal to the net from the sideline in front of a highly impressed audience.
Granted, ‘screamer’ might be exaggerating things a little, but from that angle, it wasn’t a bad strike at all.
Ever the entertainer, he didn’t half play to the crowd afterwards, one of whom quite accurately predicted that Marty’s exploits would end up on this fine website.
What a showman.
