‘Awww, that’s a punch alright.’
As anyone who’s ever been there or who’s ever met an Australian will know, Aussies love their sport and they have their own unique way of describing it; spend a couple of minutes listening to the legend that is Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins and you’ll know what we’re on about.
The commentators calling the recent Ron Massey Cup Grand Final didn’t lay on the uniquely Australian sayings quite as thick as Cummins usually does, but they still brought their own brand of Aussie to bear on proceedings once a fairly big brawl kicked off towards the end of the first half.

All it was missing was a ‘strewth’, a couple of shouts of ‘rack off’ or a few ‘what’s that Skip?’ references here and there but while we don’t condone the brawl, the commentary was certainly entertaining, nearly as entertaining, in fact, as what is without a doubt the greatest piece of rugby league commentary of all time.
