We think we’ve found a way to make the Leinster Football Championship more competitive… let South Africa Gaels play in it.
If Galway and Antrim can play in Leinster in the hurling and Australia are allowed in the Eurovision, why should location prevent the Gaels from rubbing shoulders with Offaly in Tullamore and Wicklow in Aughrim?
Judging from this video, where Dublin midfielder Michael Darragh McCauley loses a shoot-off with his South Africa Gaels counterpart, we reckon they may even cause a few surprises.
The South Africa Gaels GAA Men and Ladies’ teams are touring Ireland over the next week.
The men’s team is the first all-African GAA team, established five years ago and made up of players from the townships of Johannesburg.
They are being joined by the first all-African female South Africa Gaels team.
ESB International, which is celebrating 40 years in business this year, is once again sponsoring their tour.
The teams will then travel from Ireland to represent South Africa in the GAA World Games in Abu Dhabi on March 5.
Here’s their schedule for their time in Ireland.
Also, you can win their amazing jersey here.
