It was another cracking night of Champions League action last night with some brilliant goals and this free-kick from Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne was the pick of the bunch.
In what is arguably the toughest group of all in the Champions League, Napoli hosted last season’s finalists Borussia Dortmund in Naples and came out of the game with what could be a valuable three points after goals from Gonzalo Higuain and a belter of a free-kick from Lorenzo Insigne.
From 30 yards out, Insigne curled a beauty off the underside of the crossbar and into the net with a strike that no ‘keeper would save and such was the desperation of Dortmund sub ‘keeper Mitchell Langerak to reach it (Roman Weidenfeller was sent off in the first half, a decision that manager Jurgen Klopp didn’t take at all well) that he rattled his face off the post.
You probably won’t see a better struck free-kick all season.
