Ben Sigmund saw a straight red in this ‘friendly’, and now faces a deserved lengthy ban.

Like us, you probably haven’t been keeping too close an eye on the OSN Cup in Saudi Arabia. Organised by TV station OSN, it featured New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Trinidad and Tobago and Saudi Arabia playing off in a mini tournament held over five days. Last night, the final between UAE and New Zealand ended in a 2-0 win for the UAE, but one unsavoury incident in the final minutes is grabbing all the headlines. UAE striker Ahmed Mabkhout got into a tangle with All Whites defender Ben Sigmund and fell to the floor. Sigmund then, for some bizarre reason, decided to jump up in the air and bring both his feet down on the prone Mabkhout legs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0r6DQFs5cP8 The referee instantly sent him off and the 32-year-old will surely be hit with a hefty ban for his moment of madness last night.
