Given some of the boring football they’ve seen of late, Manchester United fans will have been pining for the past when watching some club legends in action at Old Trafford today.
Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Phil Neville were all togged out for David Beckham’s Great Britain and Ireland side in action against Luis Figo’s Rest of the World outfit in the Unicef Match for Children at the Theatre of Dreams.
It only took a few minutes for the team in red to roll back the years as Scholes put them in front, arriving with textbook timing to meet a Beckham cross that was good as anything he delivered from the right wing during his playing days.
