In fairness, it could be as good a way as any.
We thought we had tried everything when it comes to methods for picking winners but we were wrong. Very wrong.
Thanks to Newstalk and Ladbrokes the previously untapped art of arse reading is now known to us. Rumpologist Sam Amos made an appearance at the yard of trainer Jessica Harrington, where two top jocks, Paul Carberry and Davy Condon were on hand to have their backsides examined.
What did we learn? Here’s what Sam said: “Paul (Carberry) has a round bottom that’s telling me although he’s the life and soul of the party, he has settled and really has the eye of the tiger. My reading of his behind is that the rest of the jockeys will have the same view as I do now, heading for the winning post on Saturday.
“Davy’s bottom is square, he’s quite determined and I think he’s going to do better than anticipated. I’m getting a strong sense of him finishing around fifth.”
With Carberry aboard Monbeg Dude (one of the favourites) and Condon on 50/1 shot Raz De Maree, we might just have a small investment, just in case Sam is right.
