Getting Christmas presents is great; getting them delivered by three international rugby players is even better.
With the help of Aviva Insurance, the Whelan family were lucky enough to have their presents delivered by Irish trio Rob and Dave Kearney and Donnacha Ryan, with the lads happy to put any provincial rivalries aside in the season of goodwill.
The Whelan lads also got to ask the lads a few questions about what they’re getting for Christmas, what was Donnacha’s favourite ever lineout catch and who’s the funniest man in the Irish camp.
Donnacha says it’s Sean O’Brien, a suggestion that was met with a furrowed brow by Rob Kearney, who spends more time with the Carlow man on a daily basis and might be better qualified to comment.
The Whelan family also got to meet Orion and Ariel, who no doubt helped ‘alpaca’ all the gifts away neatly before they’re opened again on Christmas Day.
