Defeat in Tijuana saw the Galaxy knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions League last night, and Robbie wasn’t happy despite two goals and a Beckham-esque effort from the halfway line.

These three minutes of highlights are well worth watching. They begin with some of the worst examples of defending you’ll see anywhere from the LA Galaxy defence as they contrive to concede three terrible goals, spunking their 1-0 first leg away in spectacular fashion.

A Robbie Keane tap in from a Omar Gonzalez header gave the Galaxy some hope. Then Robbie tried to score from the halfway line when he spots the Tijuana keeper off his line. It wasn’t really close and we love Robbie’s face after the miss as he looks at the bench.

A fourth goal by the Mexican side sealed Keane’s team’s fate but Robbie managed to grab a late consolation effort before the final whistle.

Speaking afterwards, in quotes carried on the excellent Emerald Exiles site, Keane said:

“The game was over in the first 10 minutes. It’s as simple as that.

“We started off slow and when you concede a goal in the space of 57 seconds; you can’t start away from home like that especially in a game like this and go on and expect that everything is going to be okay.

“We showed a lot of character in the second half which is a positive,” he continued. “We can’t come to Mexico and expect an easy ride because all the games are going to be difficult.”
