Of all the things that football fans get annoyed about when following the beautiful game these days, diving or ‘simulation’ is definitely close to the top of the list.
The antics of a few Chelsea players brought the issue to prominence once again at the weekend and while the phrase ‘Fallon D’Floor’ is one that has been doing the rounds for some time, thanks to a recent Reddit campaign, it has now become official.
When we say official, we doubt there is going to be an actual awards ceremony or anything – although it wouldn’t be a surprise if Ronaldo showed up – but the Fallon D’Floor committee have come up with six nominees for the first annual Fallon D’Floor award and there are some very high-profile players in the mix.
It will come as little surprise that Arjen Robben – who will go to ground if anyone as much as breathes in his general direction – is in there for a tumble he took during the World Cup, while there is also room for Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo amongst the nominees.

Despite the inclusion of prestigious names such as those listed above, we’re not sure if anyone can top the hilariously theatrical effort of Leeds United’s Adryan, who must still have nightmares about the challenge he was on the receiving end of against Derby last month…
