John Giles – a football man.
Tonight’s Euro 2016 Final
“They say when you’re enjoying yourself the time flies, and the time has definitely flown. It’s taken 30 years for RTÉ to find me out.”
Giles got a lump in his throat when talking about his partners in analysis Eamon Dunphy, Liam Brady and of course the legend Bill O’Herlihy.
Dunphy was gushing in his praise of Giles: “Brave. Courageous. Foresight. That guy is the greatest football man we’ve ever had. I’ll be tuning in, I’ll be buying The Herald… Soccer’s man.”
