Video: Rugby player known as ‘The Honey Badger’ gives the most Australian post-match interview ever

“Best. Post-match interview. Ever.” Hard to disagree with that.

“Best. Post-match interview. Ever.” Hard to disagree with that.

Having watched any amount of boring, uneventful post-match interviews by various athletes and sports stars over the years, it’s always refreshing to hear someone bring something different to the party and Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins certainly brought something different to the party following the Super Rugby clash between Western Force and Highlanders on Saturday.

As you’d expect from someone known as ‘The Honey Badger’ Nick is quite a character and he decided to litter his post-match interview with brilliant (and in no way pre-prepared) phrases like ‘I’ve gone up and over and head over biscuit’, ‘I was busting for a bit of meat’, ‘up the guts’ and many more in the space of just over a minute.

His explanation of his own nickname isn’t half bad either and as you might expect, Cummins has form for this kind of thing; check out his brilliant ‘treeful of galahs’ reference from a similar interview last year below.

Fair dinkum, mate.

Hat-tip to Declan Lee for the heads up on this one
