Video: Samoan rugby player guilty of one of the worst pieces of play-acting you’ll ever see

The crowd’s hysterical reaction tells you all you need to know.

The crowd’s hysterical reaction tells you all you need to know.

Play-acting has arguably crept into sport on an increasing basis in more recent times, particularly soccer, but rugby aficionados would like to think that the players who play their game don’t go in for that kind of nonsense.

With that in mind, they won’t take too kindly to the guy taking part in a recent game between Vaiala and Vailele in Samoa who was guilty of play-acting that would embarrass even the likes of Pepe, Sergio Busquets and Ashley Young.

The ref, the opposition players, his teammates and eventually the player himself rightly thought of his actions as laughable, but none of the above found it as funny as the crowd, who burst into a sustained period of hysterics afterwards.

And rightly so; that was awful, just awful.
