Video: Sligo Rovers’ famous win over Rosenberg has already been given the Downfall treatment

Hitler, it seems, is a Rosenberg fan and he’s mightily pissed off that Sligo Rovers beat the Norwegian giants in their own backyard last night.

On what has been a great week for League of Ireland sides in Europe, Sligo Rovers achieved the best result of the lot last night with a 2-1 away win over Rosenberg in the first leg of their Europa League qualifier, with goals from Alan Keane and Danny North helping to secure a famous win for the Bit O’Red.

While the result was fully deserved – if anything, John Coleman’s men will be disappointed to have conceded a late goal – it’s still fair to say that it was unexpected and it was celebrated in style by the travelling party of Rovers fans that made the trip north.

The Sligo Rovers after match banter page decided to have a bit of fun in the wake of last night’s result, giving it the Downfall treatment from the perspective of a Rosenberg fan and although we’ve seen loads and loads of these before, we got a good giggle out of this one.

Let’s just say as well as being unhappy with the result, Hitler was down a few quid as well. Be warned though, the language gets a bit salty at times.

Congratulations once again to all at Sligo Rovers on a fantastic result.
