Hats off to the lads in Stella Artois’ UK marketing department for this acknowledgement to Rufus, better known around Wimbledon as ‘The Real Hawk-Eye.’
Last month, Stella Artois announced that it would be the official beer sponsor of Wimbledon up until 2018 and to make the announcement they’ve been slowly releasing short videos featuring ‘Perfectionists’.
This time around, they take a intimate look at Rufus, the official ‘Bird Scarer’ of the Wimbledon tennis grounds.
Here’s what Stella Artois had to say on YouTube: “The Perfectionists at Wimbledon presents Rufus, the Wimbledon Hawk. Meet the real hawk eye of Wimbledon, keeping pigeons at bay since the year 2000. Rufus is the perfect athlete and prides himself on this work – he’s up at 5am everyday to patrol the grounds.”
