It helps that the promo’s voice-over is none other than Charles Dance, better known as Tywin Lannister from Game of Thrones.

The BBC’s cool new Winter Olympics promo features a dark menacing poem about the harsh winter conditions associated with the games and the brave men and women who attempt to conquer those elements while setting a few world records along the way.

The promo reminds us of Breaking Bad’s ‘Ozymandias’ promo and if the massive icy mountain doesn’t give you chills, Charles Dance’s deep voice probably will…

The ad aired on TV for the first time last night ahead of Sherlock and it will be featured on BBC1 and BBC2 over the coming weeks. The Opening Ceremony for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games kicks off on February 7.

If all that talk about Charles Dance has got you in the mood for some Game of Thrones action then you can check out the Season 4 trailer here.
