Morgan Parra will miss Clermont Auvergne’s Heineken Cup clash against Harlequins this weekend as well as three more games after a bout of fisticuffs in a Top Four encounter with Bordeaux-Begles last month.
The French scrum-half and kicking machine will also be absent for two Top 14 games and France’s meeting with the All-Blacks next month after throwing a few schelps at Bordeaux’s Gibouin Gautier in what was a pretty facile 40-11 victory for last season’s Heineken Cup finalists.
It’s unclear what exactly Gautier did to raise his ire but Parra certainly looked p*ssed and was swinging punches fairly wildly in the direction of his opponent before being dragged away by a couple of teammates.
Having been cited for his role in the dust-up, Parra has been hit with a four-week ban and will prove a pretty big loss for club and country in a fairly important few weeks for both sides.
