Croke Park in September might seem a long way away at this stage, but that won’t stop fans from all counties dreaming of being there, even at this early stage.
After what seemed like a particularly barren few months, inter-county GAA returned at the weekend and though it is a long way away from the thrills and spills of Championship action at headquarters come the summertime, we were glad to have it back all the same.
It won’t be long until provincial grounds around the country are packed with supporters daring to dream that it will be their beloved county that lands the holy grail and that journey has rarely been as eloquently summed up as it is by a poem, 'The Road to Croke Park' which was written and is read above by Paul Curran, with DIT Communications student Derek Doyle providing the visuals.
You might remember Derek from his
gallery of Dublin stereotypes that we featured on the site shortly before Christmas and together with Paul, their latest effort sums up what the GAA means to so many people; the highs and lows, the pre-match rituals and, of course, the obligatory celebratory trip to Coppers afterwards.
