Video: The Sunday Game pundits suggest potential ways to beat the all-conquering Dubs this season

They don’t sound all that confident that the Dubs can be stopped, mind.

On the back of last year’s All-Ireland success and a second successive league title in the spring, Jim Gavin’s Dublin side are runaway favourites to regain Sam Maguire and some pundits will tell you that it’s as good as wrapped up already.

Ahead of the return of The Sunday Game (summer doesn’t start until you hear the sound of The Sunday Game theme tune) this weekend, some of the show’s Gaelic Football pundits speculated on possible ways of beating the reigning Champions in this season’s championship.

Ciaran Whelan, Pat Spillane, Eamon O’Hara and Colm O’Rourke all offered their thoughts on how it might be done, with a lot of focus on nullifying Stephen Cluxton’s kickouts, flooding midfield and playing a sweeper to stop their forwards running riot in Croke Park. Easy, right?

RTE, meanwhile, also revealed details of their live coverage over the next seven weeks (see details below), by which stage we will have a better idea of the sort of competition Sky will provide for the national broadcaster in their first year covering our national games.

Championship is back folks and not a minute too soon either.
