We can’t wait to see this.
When it comes to the greatest figures in the history of Irish sport, AP McCoy deserves mentioning at the very top of the list.
The Antrim jockey finally called it a day in April of this year after a quite remarkable career in which he won more than 4,300 races, was crowned Champion jockey 20 years in a row and was, to put it mildly, one of the toughest bastards you’ll ever come across.
If anyone is worthy of a documentary about his incredible career it’s McCoy and we can’t wait to get a glimpse of Being AP, which will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this week.
Judging by the trailer, it’s going to be a cracker.
Being AP is directed by Anthony Wonke, and produced by Moneyglass Films, in partnership with Roads Entertainment and Partizan Films and in association with BBC Films with support from The Irish Film Board, Northern Ireland Screen and the British Horse Racing Authority/Great British Racing.
