The NBA Finals got off to a bit of an eventful start last night…

LeBron and his Miami teammates felt the heat in San Antonio during Game One of the NBA Finals last night as San Antonio triumphed 110-95 in a bizarre encounter at the AT & T Center.

With an electric fault causing a malfunction in the air conditioning, the game was played in sauna- like conditions, with temperatures reaching as high as 31 degrees.

LeBron felt the heat more than most and was absent during the closing stages when the Spurs took control of the contest, having suggested during a break in the third quarter that ‘they’re trying to smoke us out of here’.

James withdrew briefly with cramp and was then forced to exit the fray altogether; he had to be carried off the court and was treated with an IV afterwards.

While he was gone the Spurs outscored the Heat by 17 points on their way to taking the first game of what promises to be a dramatic series if last night’s opening salvo is anything to go by.
