Ibrahim Hamato is an incredible sportsman. After losing both of his hands and parts of his arms in an accident when he was just ten years old, the inspiring Egyptian thought that he was never going to play his favourite sport ever again; ping pong.
But Ibrahim was ping wrong.
Sorry about that.
After years of dedicated practise, Hamato relearned how to play the game by remarkably holding the ping pong paddle in his mouth and, inspired by his amazing story, the
International Table Tennis Federation recently invited him along to the ZEN-NOH World Team Table Tennis Championships to give the world's best players a run for their money.
Here at JOE, we particularly love how he's learned to serve, fantastically flicking the ball up with his foot and whacking it towards his opponent with the paddle. Brilliant stuff...
