VIDEO: This is what winning a Leinster title meant to Oulart the Ballagh after six heartbreaking defeats

Seventh time lucky

Nobody’s calling them Oulart the bottlers now!

Last month, Wexford club side Oulart the Ballagh defeated Cuala to claim the first ever Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship title in their history.

Winning a provincial title is a big deal for any club, but it was particularly sweet for Oulart the Ballagh because they had lost every single one of their previous six Leinster titles, prompting many to question their character and label them with the dreaded ‘bottlers’ tag.

The camogie team, as AIB GAA Leinster Camogie champions, were willing the Senior Hurling team to emulate their success. Their support was made all the more poignant with nine different families represented across both hurling and camogie teams.

To say it meant a lot to the club would be something of an understatement, as you’ll see in the brilliant video above.
