Tiger Woods has had a pretty good year. Okay, he didn’t win a Major, but he has won five times on the PGA Tour and he was a few inches away from making the playoffs last night in New Jersey to possibly win a sixth.
Woods birdied 16 and 17 and his birdie putt on 18 was just inches shy of the hole, meaning old foe Adam Scott won by a shot at -11.
But Woods lost his chance at the 13th. He hooked his drive way, way off line, and into some water, and that wild shot not only did for his round, it did for his back too, as a massive spasm forced the 37-year-old to drop to his knees in pain.
Woods picked himself to finish, and finish strongly, but his participation in next week’s Deutsche Bank is now in doubt. Get well soon Tiger.
