Video: Watch Tomas ‘Mossy’ Quinn use the Sam Maguire for the Ice Bucket Challenge

It’s the most glorified bucket you’ll find in Ireland, that’s for sure.

It’s the most glorified bucket you’ll find in Ireland, that’s for sure.

Such is the ubiquitous nature of the Ice Bucket Challenge these days that it takes a really unique one for people to really take notice and a Dublin legend using the Sam Maguire as the so-called ‘bucket’ in the challenge certainly falls into that category.

Former All-Ireland winner Tomas ‘Mossy Quinn completed the challenge using Sam today and to be fair to the St. Vincent’s man, it barely ruffled him at all.

Although it’s the first time (Update: We’ve been informed that Mossy’s Vincent’s teammate Cormac Diamond did it first) that Sam has been used for an ice bucket challenge, we somehow doubt it’s the first time that one of the most famous trophies in Ireland has been filled with large quantities of liquid before subsequently being emptied in seconds flat.

Remember folks, if you are doing the challenge – we’d be very surprised if you haven’t done so already – make sure to donate to IMNDA or whatever worthy cause you’re representing; that’s the most important thing at the end of the day after all.
