A fitting acknowledgement to one of the great Irish sportsmen who made such an impact in the AFL.
The action on the pitch last night between Ireland and Australia was a little one-sided and how the touring party could have done with someone of the calibre of Jim Stynes.
In the build-up to the International Series Tadhg Kennelly, another successful Irish export Down Under, said that the games were a testament to the late Stynes, who played for both sides during his time.
“There’s a bloke who’s passed away, Jimmy Stynes who was one of the biggest believers of the whole and if anything it’s a legacy to that man, who loved playing the series,” Kennelly said.
Last night the GAA paid a fitting tribute with this video in honour of the Dublin legend.
A nice touch for a game that meant so much to the big man.
