Out in November, ‘Manny’ looks like a must watch.

As any sports fan about their favourite sports documentaries and you won’t have to wait too long until they say When We Were Kings. Focusing on the Rumble in the Jungle fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman the film, released in 1996, was an instant classic and deservedly won the Oscar for best doc the same year.

The man behind that film, Leon Gast, with help from Ryan Moore, is now back with a new boxing documentary so we are very excited indeed.

The subject this time is one of the modern greats, Manny Pacquiao. The trailer, posted on the Telegraph today, looks not only at his great career but also at his role in the Phillipines, where he has become a superstar of almost unimaginable levels to western eyes.

If the film is half as good as When We Were Kings we are in for a treat. It is released on DVD on November 17, but we hope a few cimemas pick it up so we can watch it on the big screen.
