We genuinely can’t get enough of the Greatest so this upcoming film, featuring lots of previously unreleased recordings of the boxer, promises to be a must-see.

Today just so happens to be exactly 54 years to the day since Muhammad Ali (then Cassius Clay) won a gold medal at the 1960 Olympics. That was the great man’s big splash on the international scene and well, since that day he remains one of the most famous people on the planet.

Fascination to learn more about him, what made him tick and what he really thought about behind the fast talk and even faster fists has driven an entire industry in books, TV shows and films. We’ve lost count of how many we have read and watched ourselves but like the rest of you, we always want more.

And now, thankfully, a documentary that promises to allow us closer to him than ever before is headed to the big screen.

‘I Am Ali’ will be released in US next month (and hopefully here shortly afterwards) and it will use a stock of recordings of phone calls Ali made to friends, family and associates throughout his career. The trailer below allows us to hear tiny snippets, and we definitely want to hear more.

Also containing interviews with family members and old foes (George Foreman pops up) it genuinely looks like a cracking watch.
