Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone is not a knockout merchant. In fact, in 21 MMA wins before the weekend, he has only managed two, preferring to specialise in submissions. But his third KO, inflicted on Adriano Martins at UFC on Fox 10 on Saturday night, was one of the best you will ever see from any fighter.
The lightweight contest started out cagily enough but with less than half a minute remaining in the first round, Cerrone fired and landed a perfect head kick, with his shin catching the Brazilian squarely on the jaw. Martins was out before he hit the ground, and the fight was over.

Post fight, Cerrone said he wanted to fight six times this year, which would be a record for the UFC. If he continues to finish off opponents this quickly, he might have a shot.
