The ECHL’s Toledo Walleye and Evansville Icemen wore special ‘Heroes’ jerseys for their charity match-up over the weekend, but that didn’t stop some of the players from duking it out…
According to Shnarped.com, the two teams wore the jerseys for the 75th anniversary of Batman’s first appearance in Detective Comics Issue #272 and they auctioned them off at the end of the night all in the name of charity…
“The game worn jerseys were auctioned off after the game with proceeds going to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, March of Dimes and the Walleye Wishing Well,” reports Shnarped.com.
Interestingly enough, the match saw several fights breaking out among the Batmen and the Riddlers in question and for this particular fight, it looked like the bad guy got the upper hand early on, but Batman came out on top in the end – as always…
Fittingly, Toledo (who were dressed as Batman) beat Evansville (the Riddlers) by a final score of 6-2.
