Video: Watch Ian Poulter skim the head off a glass of beer without actually breaking the glass

Poulter claims this only one took one take, but forgive us for being a little sceptical.

You’d expect that golfers competing in the British Open this week would be spending a little more time on the range or getting in some practise on links courses to prepare themselves for Hoylake, but it appears as if many of the field have been getting ready for one of the four biggest tournaments of the year by exhibiting their capacity to pull of outrageous trick shots.

Yesterday we brought you footage of Padraig Harrington nailing an impossible approach shot while stationed behind two trees as well as having a blindfold covering his eyes and today, Ian Poulter has been knocking the head off a glass of Stella Artois.

You might mistake that as some sort of metaphor suggesting that Poults has been on the gargle this week but we mean it literally as, in front of a watching audience, the flamboyant Englishman managed to knock the excess head off a glass of Stella before returning it to its owner to drink.

Like we said, we’re a little bit sceptical of Poulter’s claims that he nailed it in one go but even still it’s quite impressive, not to mention the little bit of keepy-uppy at the start; on that evidence he’d make a decent hurler if he gave it a shot.
