Professional golfers have a tough life…
Lee Westwood can’t quite get his hands on a major championship but when it comes to ridiculously elaborate closest to the pin challenges, it seems, he has no peer.
Or at least he didn’t when he was one of five golfers attempting to land the ball onto a makeshift green anchored on a barge in a lagoon from a suite at the Atlantis Resort in Dubai located on the 22nd floor.
Considering that the hotel suite was located 300 yards above the ground and the green – which measured 10 yards x 6 yards in size – was situated 235 yards beyond the hotel’s swimming pool and beach in the Arabian Gulf, it’s not the easiest challenge and all of the participants were given ten shots in their attempts to land it on the dance floor.
Westwood got the better of fellow contestants Henrik Stenson, Justin Rose, David Howell, Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer after landing a peach of shot four feet away from the flag, with guest referee Ian Poulter confirming the victory while clad in a pair of very fetching pink swim shorts.
All in a day’s work for a pro golfer, eh?
