Mikayla Clark, a 16-year-old from Atlanta, is made of stronger stuff than you.

The human body wasn’t designed to do back flips. But someone someday discovered they could do it and since then, everyone has had at least one go at it. Most of us stop after one go. But with the world record standing at a frankly stomach churning 36, an American cheerleader decided she could go further. And boy did she. This video, along with some very annoying commentary from American morning TV, shows Mikayla Clark perform what is estimated at 44 backflips without stopping. Even though the last few look very ropey indeed, she manages to stay on her feet after putting her body through the sort of trauma that would normally only happen if you rode a rollercoaster 100 times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5oRkNPYcWI Hats off Mikayla, we reckon you’ll be holding onto that record for a while. Hat-tip to Bleacher Report for the video
