Horrible stuff.
A club hurling championship encounter between Dungarvan and Mount Sion descended into chaos yesterday when a mass brawl broke out and forced the game to be abandoned for a number of minutes.
Several players from both sides became involved in a fracas in front of the stand in Fraher Field shortly before half-time and a Dungarvan player fell to the ground after appearing to be struck by the swinging hurley of a Mount Sion opponent.
Waterford star Austin Gleeson (Mount Sion) and Dungarvan’s Colm Curran were sent off as a result of the brawl, with Dungarvan going onto win on a scoreline of 1-22 – 2-16.
Be warned that the footage above contains violent scenes and language of an industrial nature from the crowd watching on.
