VIDEO: Whiplash star Miles Teller send the Wicklow U21 hurlers a good luck message

This is a bit surreal

Joe Harrington

This is a bit surreal.

Miles Teller is one of the best new actors in Hollywood and he has plenty of experience under his belt already following roles in Whiplash, Fantastic Four and Project X to name a few.

The 28-year-old’s reputation took a bit of a hit earlier this year after an interview with Esquire made him out to be a “dick”. Their word, not ours.

However, it seems Miles is a decent skin after he agreed to send a good luck message to the Wicklow Under 21 hurlers who are in the All-Ireland U21 Final on Saturday.

JOE reader Jim Doyle met Miles at JFK Airport in New York and the actor sent a message (with a little guidance) to the hurlers of the Garden County.

Jim told us how the meeting came about: “I’m doing a study abroad exchange program at Fordham university, where I’m studying business.

“We were just chatting about the flight and how his mom is from Galway, and I explained they had a tough defeat against Kilkenny and Limerick in the u21.”

It’s seems like he isn’t such a dick after all.

Cheers to Jim Doyle for sending this our way. If you have a photo, video or story you think we’d like, send it to us on Twitter, Facebook or email [email protected].
