Tough to watch if you’re from Tipp, but great for the rest of us.
As yesterday’s Division 4 clash between Wicklow and Tipperary at Semple Stadium ticked into added time, the home team led by seven points, a very comfortable margin in Gaelic Football.
But then Wicklow went on a goal spree the like of which is rarely seen. With the score at 1-12 to 0-22, Rory Finn’s cleverly chipped goal for Wicklow sparked an epic Tipp collapse. Two more green flags were rapidly raised, courtesy of James Stafford and Seanie Furlong, as Tipp went to pieces in defence.
A nine point swing in less than two minutes is hard it believe but here it is.
This one will be giving Premier supporters nightmares for a while.
