The following footage features the moment a woman came within inches of being killed after Shakhtar Donetsk’s Donbass Arena was damaged by a nearby shell blast.

The arena was damaged on Monday evening, even though a ceasefire had been agreed between the Ukraine government and Russian-backed separatists last month, and the blast resulted in a large section of the stadium’s glass-covered façade falling from a considerable height.

In the video above, a woman can be seen walking towards the stadium’s main doors moments before the weakened structure falls inches in front of her face. Thankfully, the majority of the collapsed glass and concrete missed her and she was able to get up and run to safety.

Here’s a look at the aftermath… scary stuff.

Following the damage on Monday, Shakhtar released a statement on the club’s website: “On October 20, Donbass Arena was seriously damaged in the course of the on-going, continuous shelling of Donetsk.

“The western part of the stadium, facing Chelyuskintsiv Street, took the brunt of the attack. As a result, metal structures of the building were deformed and destroyed, windowpanes broken, communications damaged.”
