Video: You’ll shudder after watching this perfectly timed hit from US College Football last night

We fancy we might see some of this in Croker over the weekend.

We fancy we might see some of this in Croker over the weekend.

The College football season got underway Stateside this week and Ole Miss safety Cody Prewitt made sure it was back with a bang during the clash with Boise State last night.

The opposition wide receiver could do little after being caught in a static position in the centre of the field and with better timing than Lee Keegan being told he’s free to play in the All-Ireland semi-final this weekend, Prewitt caught him cold with a massive hit that must have hurt quite a bit.

In case you’ve forgotten, meanwhile, Penn State and University of Central Florida will face each other in the Croke Park Classic at GAA headquarters on Saturday and to whet the appetite for that one, have a look back at some of the most memorable moments from the 2013 College Football season.

It should be a cracker.
