The Welshman is cartoonishly fast for a footballer.

The Copa del Rey final tonight was not the most classic of El Clasicos. An Angel Di Maria goal had a Ronaldo-less Real Madrid in the driving seat after just 10 minutes but they couldn't build on that lead. Instead, Barca edged their way back in and a Mark Barta header from a corner had put them level with 20 to go. They poked and prodded but then then they were undone by the sheer pace of Gareth Bale. The Welshman faced up Bartra on a quick break and simply blew him away with his speed. Then he had the composure to control the ball and slip it under Pinto for the lead with less than five minutes to go.   Here's another angle
